The range finder features a built-in camera with 30mm focal length and 70° field of view to ensure accurate focus. It also features wide and spot modes so operators can either autodetect focus or adjust focus manually. It is compatible with the RS Focus Motor to provide accurate cinema-style autofocus when you're using manual lenses. The range finder mounts on your RS 3 Pro stabilizer or camera using its cold shoe or 1/4"-20 thread, and it powers via a USB Type-C power cable, making for a well-integrated autofocus addition to your camera.
Autofocus
The LiDAR Range Finder (RS) can project 43,200 ranging points within a 14-meter area. It also features a built-in camera with an equivalent focal length of 30mm and a wide FOV of 70°, catering to the focusing needs of most scenarios
Automated Manual Focus
Compared with conventional focusing technology, the LiDAR focusing system does not need to rely on the surface texture of the subject. This is especially useful in low-light environments or complicated scenarios with multiple subjects and results in exceptionally stable focus in the footage.
Wide and Spot Modes
It supports both Wide Mode and Spot Mode. In Wide Mode, the range finder automatically detects the subject and follows focus. In Spot Mode, users can manually frame or tap the subject to focus.
Pairs with Focus Motor
The pairing of the LiDAR Range Finder with the new Focus Motor also makes cinematic autofocus on manual lenses possible after calibration. Press the M button on the gimbal once to quickly switch between manual focus and autofocus to meet your needs for both modes effortlessly. While designed to enable autofocus on manual lenses, it can also work with autofocus lenses only with manual and/or hard stop options.
